Provide leadership and coordination to ensure an aligned continuum of Gifted and Talented services at the secondary level.
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certification
GT Supplemental Certification/Endorsement
Texas Administrator Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation, assessment, and technology
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to develop and facilitate adult learning experiences
Ability to evaluate and interpret legal policies related to Gifted and Talented services
Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Extensive knowledge in the area of gifted and talented programming and student needs
Ability to manage budget
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Ability to coordinate District functions
Experience:
Minimum three years teaching GT students or advanced academics courses
Instructional leadership experience preferred
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Responsibilities:
Develop, strengthen, and coordinate the instructional programming for students receiving GT services within Frisco ISD.
Coordinate the development, evaluation, and revision of GT curriculum documents and materials.
Work cooperatively with directors and campus principals in supervising the instructional program and services provided.
Plan, improve, and oversee the GT identification and testing process for secondary students in Frisco ISD.
Analyze and facilitate analysis of state and District assessment data, in addition to other related data, in order to improve student learning and address the social/emotional needs of GT students.
Coordinate the selection, ordering, and use of instructional aids and materials to support GT services.
Coordinate, support, and oversee related academic competitions.
Communication Expectations:
Employ excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate skills in instructional coaching.
Commit to work interdependently with District and campus staff and share responsibility for the learning of all Frisco ISD students.
Maintain deep collaborative partnerships with District and campus staff.
Serve as liaison with appropriate state and national organizations and network with area districts in order to collaborate and share best practices.
Communicate, gain feedback, and promote the dissemination of GT related information with parents and other stakeholders, such as parent organizations.
Professional Learning Expectations:
Implement an ongoing, systematic, results-based staff development program that is based on District and campus data, aligned with District and campus goals and which provides for the needs of individual staff members.
Facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators.
Disseminate information regarding current research, best practice, and significant developments in state and national policy.
Maintain currency in GT teaching methodology and best teaching practices through research and attendance at professional development activities and professional meetings.
Take the initiative to develop skills appropriate to job assignments.
Other Expectations:
Implement and monitor applicable policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education Rules, and local Board policy.
Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Frisco ISD.
Prepare and administer budget for the supplies, instructional resources, equipment, and facilities in the area of assignment.

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district and/or statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
