The Secondary Investments Specialist focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and executing secondary market transactions in private equity and alternative investment funds. The role requires strong analytical skills, market knowledge, and transaction experience to support the firm’s investment team in acquiring interests in existing funds or portfolios from current investors.
This position involves collaboration with investment partners, portfolio managers, fund managers, and other stakeholders to evaluate risk, assess valuation, and execute secondary transactions efficiently.
Identify and source secondary investment opportunities, including LP interest purchases and fund recapitalizations
Conduct due diligence on target secondary assets, including financial modeling, portfolio analysis, and risk assessment
Evaluate valuations, historical performance, and future potential of secondary investments
Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools to support investment decisions
Assist with transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution of secondary deals
Monitor portfolio company performance and provide updates on secondary investment positions
Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reporting for internal investment committees and external stakeholders
Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and liquidity opportunities in the secondary market
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees or CFA a plus
Strong understanding of private equity, venture capital, and secondary market mechanics
Experience in financial modeling, valuation, and portfolio analysis
Knowledge of fund structures, LP agreements, and investment documentation
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple deals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, or investment analysis platforms is a plus
