DESCRIPTION

Madison District Public Schools is seeking a full-time Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for mathematics and a commitment to helping students develop strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. The successful candidate will create an engaging learning environment that promotes mathematical reasoning, supports diverse learning needs, and prepares students for future academic and career success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Mathematics endorsement (EX)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Michigan Mathematics Standards
  • Knowledge of effective instructional practices and curriculum development
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
  • Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
  • Competency in student management and supervision
  • Ability to use data to inform instruction and support student achievement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and state standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and student learning needs.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families regarding academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and communication.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that promotes mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success and achievement.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and district initiatives to improve instructional practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
