Title: Secondary Math Teacher

Description: Math Teacher capable of teaching standards in Grades 7-12

Qualifications: Applicants must have a current Arkansas Teaching License for

7-12 Mathematics. Applicants must have effective instructional skills and experiences, along with a proven background in

education. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not

required.

Reports To: Principal and Assistant Principal

Terms of Employment: 190 days with benefits provided according to the Siloam

Springs School Board policies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work collaboratively with content team (PLC) and grade level interdisciplinary team.
  • Teach the Arkansas Math Standards associated with Grades 7-12
  • Implement a variety of effective, research-based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress frequently, using both formative and summative assessments, and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs
  • Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners, reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
  • Effectively implement district initiatives.
  • Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
  • Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
  • Embrace middle school model and philosophy.

Other Job Functions:

  • Have or develop a working knowledge of QuEST and the mathematical practices
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Remain current on instructional practices in education
