Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Rolling Meadows, IL for a one-year contract role supporting Northrop Grumman.

The Embedded Software Engineer will support RF software development for engineering, scientific, manufacturing, laboratory simulation, aircraft protection, display, and electrical systems. This onsite role requires active Secret clearance, C++11 object-oriented programming experience, embedded software integration experience, and experience testing and debugging software on target hardware using real-time operating systems.

Required Skills

• STEM degree required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• C++11 object-oriented programming experience.
• Experience testing, debugging, and integrating embedded software on target hardware.
• Real-time operating system experience.
• Ability to apply software standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Ability to develop, operate, and maintain software components and computing systems software.
• Ability to interface with engineering teams, program staff, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Rolling Meadows, IL.

Preferred Skills

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.
• VxWorks experience.
• Python, Batch, or other scripting language experience.
• Agile software development experience in a team environment.
• Experience supporting RF software, laboratory simulation systems, aircraft protection systems, display systems, or electrical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capability.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, operate, and maintain embedded software components.
• Support software for engineering, scientific, manufacturing, and mission-system applications.
• Integrate software with laboratory simulation, aircraft protection, display, and electrical systems.
• Test, debug, and integrate embedded software on target hardware.
• Apply software development standards and processes throughout the lifecycle.
• Use development tools and procedures to support engineering applications and products.
• Collaborate with engineering functions and program teams.
• Support software development, integration, troubleshooting, and verification activities.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9x80 A schedule.
• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Onsite role.

Pay

• $76.21/hour
