Position Title: Secretary to the Assistant Principal - 12 Month

Required
- Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent
General Scope of Function
The Assistant Principal Secretary plays an integral role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the schools administrative operations. This position provides essential support to the Assistant Principals office while serving as a key liaison between administration, faculty, students, and families.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Advanced secretarial skills including but not limited to experience with Microsoft Suite - MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Google email and / or financial software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with an ability to work with district staff, students and parents.
- Possess good judgment in responding to parents, guardians and other members of the public.
- High degree of organization.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Previous Experience is a school system a plus
- Knowledge of PowerSchool a plus
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform secretarial duties to include but are not limited to manage & maintaining office documents, faxing, photocopying, all written and electronic correspondence, financial documents and records.
- Answer and direct telephone inquiries.
- Support district staff, parents and others with questions and concerns.
- Schedule and maintain meetings, appointments, and electronic calendars.
- Maintain schedules and calendars for state required reports and other time sensitive activities.
- Provide logistical support for building and department activities.
- Coordinates special education and 504 meetings, paperwork, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Provide secretarial support to school administration.
- Responsible for student records to include registration and withdrawal of all students, demographics, free/reduced lunch forms, bus passes, etc.
- Responsible for monthly enrollment report.
- Collects and maintains records on disciplinary measures; if applicable
- Works with all forms and records involving staff absenteeism and substitute coverage.
- Provides relief for and helps office receptionists with students, parents, visitors and staff members.
- Maintains records on field trips, guest visitors, and dismissals; if applicable
- Works with Assistant Principal on district-wide testing of students.
Physical Activity:
The position may require infrequent lifting, pulling or pushing during the normal performance of the tasks and responsibilities. Work may require frequent sitting, walking, and standing in an office environment. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of a Secretary, at a minimum, the essential functions of the position.
Work Environment: - Work is performed in the school office environment.
Terms of Employment
