Position: Secretary Location: Har-Bur Middle School

Schedule: 7 hours per day, 190 days per year Salary Range: TBD (25-26 wages $26.29 to $27.72/hr.)

Reports to: Building Administration Starting Date: Start of the 2026-2027 School Year

General duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: The secretary is directly responsible to the Associate Principal and other members of the School Administrative Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Answering telephones courteously and respectfully, directing callers to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assists with the main office morning duties
  • Organize and maintain information for field trips to Quebec and Washington DC
  • Coordinate fall fundraising and maintain fundraising bank.
  • Organize Student Picture Days
  • Letting visitors enter upon proper identification
  • Monitor late arrivals and early dismissals to and from school.
  • Completing tasks associated with closing and opening each school year.
  • Coordinate transportation information and communicate with bus company.
  • Maintaining the professional schedule for the Associate Principal and Dean of Students.
  • Performing any related office duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Administration.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma.
  • At least three years of office experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, problem-solve and multitask while remaining calm in a high-stress environment.
  • A sense of humor and a love for working with students in grades 5-8.
  • Experience with Powerschool is a plus.
