Prior HR experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelGood interpersonal and communications skillsRequired criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or resident alien status REPORTS TO: Business Administrator PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages human resources related to certificated and non-certificated staff.Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including employee leaves of absence, transfers, and promotions.Interpret and explain human resources policies, benefits, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations.Administer benefits for current and former employees (COBRA).Originates and implements new employee orientations.Originates and implements annual benefits open enrollment with informational sessions.Explain, maintain, and update human resources documents, such as employee handbooks, directories, benefit plan documents, and summary plan documents.Provides support for claims appeals, difficult or sensitive claims resolution.Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of other employees relating to employment.Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate in the effective management of NJSLEDS, Personnel Position Control Roster, HR Portal, and FMLA procedures and reporting. This includes but not limited to annual open enrollment and year end reports as required.Maintains and records data for each employee applicable to staff attendance to verify accuracy and provide reports necessary to the effective record keeping of this process. This includes the daily operations and annual maintenance of the applicable software program used by the district for this purpose.Maintains well-organized, efficient records management system.Maintains high degree of confidentiality and independent judgment.Assists in the development of the annual budget for benefits and monitor annual expenditures.Establish and maintain cooperative relations with all staff.Maintains inputting EBC payments for staff.Performs other tasks related to the efficient operation of the office and position as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of noncertificated staff.
