DESCRIPTION:
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Maintains smooth and efficient operation of the school office.
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a smoothly-run office.
- Maintain a record of all children enrolled in the school (1) by grade, and (2) by name, address, parent''s name and telephone number. Update records as needed to account for new students and withdrawals.
- Obtain written consent and send for records of new students.
- Transfer student records to other schools upon the request of that school.
- Maintain and submit required records of attendance.
- Run daily attendance report and provide a copy to the principal.
- Keep principal updated and advised regarding students with excessive absences and tardies.
- Receive and route all in-coming calls.
- Locate and notify building principal of any emergencies or impending problems when the building principal is elsewhere in the district.
- Provide building tours and information to potential students and families.
- Make necessary professionally oriented phone calls for staff members for buses, lyceums, and field trips.
- Assist district nurse by attending to medical needs of students and dispensing of first aid and/or medications.
- Assist the Business Office by providing current and accurate data for Pelican Elementary School for the filing of the Third and Second Friday student counts. Accurate and timely completion of all required state reports.
