Hourly rate range will change July 1, 2026 to $20.18 - $22.05
Purpose Statement:
The job of Secretary to Elementary Principal is done for the purpose/s of providing secretarial support to school-site personnel; communicating information to staff, students, the public, and other districts; ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements; providing information and/or direction as may be requested; and supporting assigned administrative personnel. This job reports to Assigned Building Supervisor.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: administering first aid; operating standard office equipment; performing standard bookkeeping; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and using pertinent software applications.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: accounting/bookkeeping principles; business telephone etiquette; concepts of grammar and punctuation; safety practices and procedures; and age appropriate activities.
ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with similar types of data; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job''s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 10% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions.
