Compensation
Compensation is based on years of experience and qualifications:
- Minimum: $32.62/hour
- Midpoint: $40.77/hour
- Maximum: $48.93/hour
Position Overview
An established healthcare laboratory organization is seeking an experienced Section Coordinator to support laboratory operations within a fast-paced hospital environment. This role is responsible for overseeing workflow coordination, ensuring quality laboratory performance, supporting staff development initiatives, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical laboratory expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform STAT laboratory procedures and analyze testing samples accurately and efficiently
- Conduct and document quality control procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Support department leadership with regulatory compliance initiatives, including CAP standards
- Assist with onboarding, training, and competency development of laboratory personnel
- Prioritize and coordinate laboratory testing activities based on patient needs, productivity goals, and staff competency
- Provide operational updates and workflow feedback to laboratory management
- Promote teamwork, communication, and collaboration across the department
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, laboratory standards, and safety regulations
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, efficiency, and patient-focused service delivery
Qualifications
Required
- Associate Degree in Science
- State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
- ASCP Certification or equivalent certification
