This position is located onsite in Hamilton, Washington State.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Perform general IT support in secure environments. Helps Janicki employees with computing and communication problems related to computers, phones, printers, applications, server/networking configuration, and hardware. An active security clearance is preferred.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems of varying complexity
- Installs and troubleshoots computer hardware and peripherals
- Assists with maintaining hardware labeling and inventory
- Responds promptly to requests for technical support
- Patiently communicates with employees across the company
- Documents, tracks, and monitors work using applicable systems and tools
- Travels to various Janicki locations to provide on-site assistance as needed
- May coordinate with other teams or departments to resolve user problems
- May train, coach, and assist less experienced team members
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
- Assists with preparing for annual inspections
- Must become familiar with National Institute of Standards and Technology manuals 800-171 and 800-53
- Must maintain a DoD 8570.01 Certification
- May be required to travel within the continental U.S.
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
- Performs other duties as assigned
The Help Desk Technician has three levels of competency to be determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree required; equivalent combination of education, experience, and industry certifications will be considered. Must have strong customer service skills and proficient oral and written communication skills in the English language
- Must be proficient working with Windows OS, common applications like Microsoft Office, and PC hardware (A+ certification level)
- Must have a basic understanding of computer networking and security
- Must obtain CompTIA’s Security+ certification within 6-months of hire
- Must be willing to participate in an after-hours, on-call rotation for responding to IT emergencies
- Must be accommodating and flexible while maintaining priorities
- Must be able to work well independently and under pressure
DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION
Wage range for this role is between $20 - $40, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
