About the Opportunity
Work on advanced electronic security systems across healthcare, education, government, and commercial facilities throughout San Antonio. These projects require precision installation, system integration, and strong troubleshooting skills across low voltage security platforms.

What You ll Do
Helper / Level I (0 2 years):
Pull and route low voltage cabling for access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
Install support structures: J-hooks, cable tray, bridle rings, conduit
Assist with installation of:
o Door contacts, REX devices, motion detectors
o Basic CCTV cameras and mounts
Support senior techs with labeling, device mounting, and rough-in work

Level II Technicians (2 4 years):
Install and terminate access control systems:
o Card readers, mag-locks, electric strikes, door position switches (DPS)
o Request-to-exit (REX) devices and power supplies
Install and configure IP and analog CCTV systems
Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 and composite security cabling
Read blueprints and determine device locations and cable pathways
Perform basic system testing and assist with device-level troubleshooting
Lead small crews on access control or camera scopes

Level III / Lead Technicians (5+ years):
Lead installation and integration of enterprise-level access control systems (Lenel, Genetec, AMAG, Software House, etc.)
Configure controllers, panels, and field devices including:
o Mercury boards, I/O modules, relay logic, and power distribution
Program and troubleshoot IP-based CCTV systems (Milestone, Avigilon, Hikvision, etc.)
Perform network integration:
o IP addressing, VLAN coordination, PoE switching, bandwidth considerations
Diagnose system issues including:
o Communication failures, grounding issues, power drops, device conflicts
Interpret schematics, riser diagrams, and sequence of operations
Manage crews, coordinate with other trades, and maintain production schedules
Complete as-builts, device addressing, labeling, and documentation

Qualifications Who You Are
Experience in commercial security / access control systems (level dependent)
Knowledge of:
o Low voltage wiring standards and installation methods
o Door hardware integration and electronic locking systems
o IP networking fundamentals (especially for Level II/III)
Ability to install, terminate, and troubleshoot systems based on experience level
Comfortable reading blueprints, schematics, and system layouts
Security License (Texas) preferred or required for higher levels
Experience with platforms like Lenel, Genetec, AMAG, Avigilon, or similar is a major plus
OSHA 10/19 preferred
