Job Title: Security Analyst Intermediate Contract Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension) Location: 100% Remote (occasional travel for onsite meetings, ~2 weeks per year) Work Hours: EST Time Zone Interview Process: 1 Round (Phone) About the Role We are seeking a Security Analyst Intermediate to support Medicaid security for payment processing systems. This position offers diverse challenges, continuous learning opportunities, and a relaxed yet supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities Perform vulnerability scanning and coordinate remediation with responsible teams. Deploy and manage Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions. Review and evaluate firewall requests. Research and assess newly released vulnerabilities. Assist with incident response and investigations. Support GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) assessments. Create alerts in SIEM tools based on data from multiple security systems. Required Skills Strong ability to communicate vulnerability information to non-security personnel. Working knowledge of web applications. Working knowledge of databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL). Solid understanding of networking concepts and tools (Nmap, Wireshark, vulnerability scanning). Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with SIEM search and analysis. Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls. Familiarity with NIST 800-53 standards. Education & Certification Minimum: High School Diploma Preferred: Security+ certification ***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment.
