    Potawatomi Casino Hotel (PCH) Security Department provides the first line of safety and often the first smiling face for our guests and team members. As a Security Assistant Shift Manager you are essential in ensuring the wellbeing of every person and all property at the hotel & casino. You will protect the life and property of our guests, team members, and company by managing up to 35 Security Supervisors, Line Officers and Observation Officers. While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by providing unsurpassed guest service, personal and professional dedication to our Mission, Vision, and Values, and demonstrating a high level of integrity and ethical standards.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

    • *Ensure the health, safety and welfare of guests and team members and protection of company assets on assigned shift.
    • *Maintain a safe work environment for any given situation such as medical emergencies, theft, bomb threats, disorderly guests, and building evacuations while always maintaining a professional demeanor.
    • *Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
    • *Assist with carrying out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but not limited to interview, hire and train team members; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline team members; motivate team; address complaints and resolve problems.
    • *Prepare and update personnel rosters of line staff, ensure all records, forms, incident reports, and logs are complete, accurately, neatly, and timely, and ensure significant or unusual incidents are reported to senior management and other responsible departments as appropriate (Example: Risk & Safety, Facilities, Executive Management).
    • *Work closely with other department management to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.
    • *Partner with Investigations and Surveillance as well as outside agencies to safeguard the integrity of the Casino.
      • Perform drug testing and breathalyzer testing.
    • Maintain knowledge of compliance controls, gaming operations, personnel policy, and procedures.
    • Keep abreast and updated of gaming security protective measures and the developments of techniques to perform daily tasks effectively.
    • Ensure full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of security or high volume, guest facing customer service experience are required. A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement can take the place of 1 year of experience;. An Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement can take the place of 6 months of experience.

    • One year prior supervisory experience is required.

    • If assigned mobile/driving duties:

    • Must have a valid, unexpired Wisconsin Driver's License.

    • Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

    • The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.

    • Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    • The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.

    • The ability to interact with guests and team members at all levels of the organization professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups.

    • Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member will be required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Working Conditions

    The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
