PURPOSEOFTHEPOSITION:Work as a member of the Program Design and ManagementTeam to promote a healthy, safe and clean environment for HeadStart children and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HighSchool Diploma or GED and 2 years of custodial experience.
• Musthave the knowledge, skills and experience needed to perform the assignedfunctions responsibly.
• Mustbe able to serve and effectively communicate to the extent feasible, staff,children and families within the community.
• Mustpossess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Anacceptable Criminal Record Check and Child Protective Services search, TB tinetest and physical required for employment.

• Workswith the service area supervisors and coordinators to prepare a safe, clean,and healthy environment for children and staff of the Head Start Program.
• Cleanoffices, classrooms, restrooms and cafeteria on a daily basis.
• Monitorsthe inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment needed.
• Securesbuilding at the end of each evening session.
• Ensuressafety of children and staff departing the center.
• Assiststhe Center Coordinator in notifying proper authorities and/or Supervisorregarding emergency situations.

Benefits

Leave ischaracterized as Annual Leave and Sick Leave. As a Full-time employee, you willaccrue Annual Leave each pay period for a total of 10 days per year, for eachof the first five years of employment. You will also accrue five (5) hours ofsick leave each pay period. In addition to Annual Leave and Sick Leave HRCAPgrants employees one day of paid time each year for their birthday.
