We have an opening on 2nd and 3rd Shift; both work every other weekend.
2nd shift: 3pm - 11:00pm
3rd shift: 11pm - 7:00am
Be the first line of defense in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming workplace. As a Security Guard, you'll play a vital role in protecting our people, facilities, and operations. This position combines active patrols, security monitoring, emergency response, and collaboration across departments to help maintain a safe environment for employees, visitors, and company assets. We're looking for someone who is observant, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional service while responding confidently to security and safety needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor employee foot traffic and verify employee badges upon entry and exit while following established security protocols.
- Follow all assigned post orders, both general and site-specific.
- Conduct routine patrols of the building and surrounding property to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperatures in designated areas.
- Monitor CCTV camera systems and respond appropriately to observed activity.
- Partner with Human Resources on potential threat situations as identified.
- Monitor parking lot activity, including during swing shift, with heightened attention at the beginning and end of shifts when visibility is limited.
- Respond promptly and in accordance with established protocols to unauthorized entries/exits and security-related emergencies.
- Identify and report safety and security concerns, including fire hazards, water leaks, and unsecured doors, following established procedures.
- Coordinate with first responders during emergencies as appropriate.
- Participate in periodic safety and security audits, inspections, and emergency drills.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with the Security Supervisor regarding incidents, concerns, and operational issues.
- Follow the appropriate chain of command for notifications and incident reporting.
- Build positive working relationships by interacting with employees and other departments in a professional and supportive manner.
- Contribute as an engaged member of a high-performing team by promoting collaboration and fostering a positive work environment.
- Be available to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Work varying shifts as needed to support the company's security objectives.
WHAT YOU NEED
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0–2 years of security experience preferred. Prior law enforcement, military, or related experience is welcomed and may be considered in lieu of traditional security experience.
- Must be eligible to obtain a South Carolina SLED Security Guard Registration (Guard Card) and provide all required documentation.
- Working knowledge of security operations, facility safety, and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to recognize potential security and safety risks, assess situations quickly, and take appropriate action in accordance with established procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to promptly report concerns, incidents, and potential risks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and requiring minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and able to learn and effectively use company-specific computer systems.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures, policies, and supervisor instructions.
- Comfortable using computers and electronic reporting systems to accurately document incidents and maintain required records.
