Job Description:

Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and one of 23 community colleges in Virginia. The college is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia; the counties of Alleghany, Bath, Botetourt (northern portion) and Rockbridge; the cities of Buena Vista, Covington, and Lexington; and the town of Clifton Forge. What You'll Do:

• Maintain the safety and security of all college buildings and grounds
• Open and lock facilities, perform routine security patrols inside and outside campus buildings
• Monitor campus activities to ensure a secure environment
• Respond promptly to any suspicious persons or events
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and visitors
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus safety

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in all situations
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and nights
