Security Guard

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains a safe and secure internal and external environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Will assist the nursing department, when necessary, by performing ED Tech duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs routine premises patrolling and secures areas primarily on the 1st floor. Monitors the internal and external premises and activities.
• Prevents losses and damage by acting on and reporting irregularities.
• Should incidents occur, will complete reports, interview witnesses, etc. and report to Nursing Supervisor and Admin-on-call.
• Immediately responds to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees, patients, and visitors.
• Performs 1:1 duties when needed. These duties include, but not limited to, continuously monitoring a patient to ensure safety to themselves and others, recognizing when nursing or C.N.A. is to be contacted, adhering to patient rights and confidentiality.
• With proper technique, utilizes force and restrains on combative patients and visitors when needed.
• Informs violators of policy and procedures. Ensures compliance.
• Performs routine and general ED Tech duties when security duties are not needed.
• Adhere to all NMMC's policies and procedures.
• Performs such related duties not listed herein but deemed in the best interest of NMMC.
• Assists Nursing Staff with general duties to include transfers.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Previous security and/or military service preferred.
• MOAB training will be provided.
