SECURITY GUARD

Position Summary

The Security Guard Attendant is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and operational flow of the facility. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and transportation providers by monitoring access, inspecting inbound and outbound traffic, conducting security rounds, operating truck scales, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining a professional presence and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

• Monitor and control employee, visitor, and vehicle access to the facility.
• Conduct routine security patrols, including hourly inspections of trailer temperatures, room temperatures, gates, and surrounding plant areas.
• Operate truck scales and accurately weigh inbound and outbound trailers.
• Process load documentation and billing information as required.
• Answer and direct after-hours telephone calls and inquiries.
• Inspect trailers for cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
• Receive and document incoming supplies, materials, and deliveries.
• Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Report security, safety, or operational concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required reports.
• Follow and enforce company policies, safety requirements, and security procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Basic computer proficiency; strong computer skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to walk long distances, navigate stairs and uneven terrain, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Previous security, gate attendant, logistics, transportation, or industrial facility experience preferred.
