Security Guard

What We Are Looking For

Primary purpose:

• This position is responsible for providing the facility with physical and personal security

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Accounting for all people entering the facility
• Roving patrol to ensure security of the facility
• Monitoring marine radio for interfacing with ships entering the port
• Performing safety orientation for visitors/3rd parties
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license

What You Will Do

Minimum requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Honorable discharge from the military
• 3 years of security experience

Experience / specific knowledge:

• The ability to work from written and verbal instructions
• Positively interact with customers and respond to customer inquiries
• Able to work with a team and adhere to required work schedules
• Attention to detail
• 1 year of physical security experience
• Overtime may be required
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
• Use internet for information gathering
• Flexible schedule to work required shifts (24-hour operation)
• Maintain professional composure other duties as assigned

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

• None

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivated with ability to complete projects with minimum direction
• Team player

Physical demands:

• Must be capable of occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25lbs

Working conditions:

• Must be capable of sitting /standing for extended periods of time
• Must have manual/metal dexterity to operate telephones, 2-way radios, calculators and computers
• Subject to background check
• Subject to random drug testing

Supervisory responsibility:

• None

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

• Military police experience preferred

Other responsibilities:

• Other duties as assigned
