As a Security Guard - Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will support a government location by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and providing professional customer service. You will communicate clearly with visitors, employees, and local stakeholders while responding to situations with integrity, reliability, and a people-first approach. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $18.35 / Hour increasing to $21.05 / Hour in annual increments

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public areas, offices, parking areas, building entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed by site procedures, and report access-control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and daily activity logs regarding patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
