Help create a safe, welcoming, and healing environment for our patients, staff, and community.

Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is seeking a dedicated Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment within our integrated healthcare clinic. JHC provides primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opiate use disorder treatment services, and this role plays an essential part in protecting patients, visitors, and employees while supporting a therapeutic culture of healing.

Schedule

Monday, Friday, and Saturday | 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Additional fill-in shifts available as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Uphold all safety and security policies and procedures.

  • Patrol and monitor assigned areas both inside and outside the building perimeter.

  • Monitor surveillance cameras.

  • Uphold all reporting requirements for suspicious activities and/or incidents; complete required documentation within designated timeframes.

  • Communicate with tact and diplomacy to help diffuse heated situations.

  • Perform security checks to ensure the clinic is secure after business hours.

  • Assist with internal investigations.

  • Maintain positive rapport with JHC patients, staff, and leadership to foster a safe, therapeutic environment and culture of healing.

  • Cross-train to provide Custodian coverage when needed.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to all JHC policies and procedures, including safety standards, Occupational Exposure Control Plan requirements, and HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional personal and ethical boundaries, empathy, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and understand the social and cultural context of JHC patients.

  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Understanding of and adherence to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part 2), maintaining ethical and professional conduct.

  • Knowledge of and cultural sensitivity to the challenges faced by the patients served at JHC.

  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to meet all current vaccine requirements for employment.

  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete employer-provided training upon hire.

  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security Guard training certification.

  • One (1) year of experience working as a Security Guard.

  • Experience working in a clinical setting.

  • Knowledge of current state and federal safety and security requirements.

  • Experience using security software and applicable safety and security equipment.

  • American Indian/Alaska Native hiring preferences apply.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Must be available to work any shift, including all hours, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance.

  • Ability to access all areas of the property applicable to the position.

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, squat, and twist for extended periods.

  • Requires good eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Ability to frequently reach above and below shoulder level.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and occasionally stressful environment while maintaining professionalism, physical stamina, and a positive attitude when interacting with patients, leadership, coworkers, and community members.
