SECURITY GUARD SUPERVISOR MULTIPLE VA LOCATIONS

GD Resources LLC is seeking an experienced Security Guard Supervisor to oversee unarmed security operations at multiple VA healthcare facilities in the Chicago area and Crown Point, Indiana.

Primary Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment: Full-time
Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Availability: Must be available during guard shifts and for scheduled, unscheduled, and off-hour inspections
Status: Contingent upon contract award and VA approval

Primary Responsibilities

Supervise security guards assigned to all contract locations.
Ensure every post is properly staffed and arrange immediate replacement coverage for absences, lateness, vacations, and emergencies.
Conduct weekly in-person site inspections and correct identified problems.
Conduct scheduled, unscheduled, and off-hour post inspections.
Monitor employee work hours, attendance, appearance, conduct, and performance.
Maintain direct communication with on-duty guards throughout their shifts.
Train and retrain guards on post orders, screening procedures, patrol requirements, reporting, emergency response, and customer service.
Ensure new employees review and understand their assigned standard operating procedures before beginning work.
Collect and review daily activity logs, incident reports, security reports, and other post documentation each week.
Provide required records to the VA Police representative or Contracting Officer's Representative.
Investigate performance or disciplinary issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Ensure employees maintain required licenses, background approvals, medical documentation, training, and VA credentials.
Meet with the VA Contracting Officer's Representative at least monthly.
Support quality-control reviews, corrective-action plans, and quarterly performance meetings.
Be available to report onsite when requested.
Provide emergency post coverage when necessary and properly qualified.

Minimum Qualifications

At least three years of successful field-supervision experience in law enforcement, military security, commercial security, industrial guard services, or a closely related field.
Must meet all qualification requirements applicable to the security guards being supervised.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Illinois security supervisor or security officer credentials, as applicable.
Indiana security credentials or ability to obtain them if providing coverage in Crown Point.
Demonstrated experience training security personnel and managing multiple posts or locations.
Strong scheduling, leadership, documentation, communication, and de-escalation skills.
Ability to prepare clear reports and conduct thorough performance investigations.
Ability to work with veterans, healthcare personnel, visitors, and behavioral-health patients professionally.
Ability to travel between all assigned VA locations.
No disqualifying criminal record.
Ability to pass company and VA background investigations, including the VA Special Agreement Check.
Ability to obtain a VA identification badge.
Ability to pass required physical, psychological, drug-screening, and tuberculosis-testing requirements.
Ability to be bonded.

Required Training

The selected supervisor must complete all required VA orientation, privacy, HIPAA, information-security, post-specific, Weapon Detection System, and recurring security training.

Additional Requirements

The supervisor must maintain professional availability, wear the required uniform when performing onsite duties, and comply with all VA policies and GD Resources LLC quality-control procedures.
