Position Summary

The Security Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the daily security operations of Primm Valley Casino Resorts to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, company assets, and facilities. This position provides leadership to the Security team, oversees investigations, ensures compliance with all applicable gaming and regulatory requirements, and promotes a safe, service-oriented environment throughout the resort. The Security Manager partners with internal departments and external agencies to effectively respond to emergencies, mitigate risk, and maintain operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Security Department across the casino, hotel, parking areas, restaurants, entertainment venues, and other resort facilities.
  • Ensure the protection of guests, team members, company assets, and property through proactive security measures and visible leadership.
  • Monitor security operations to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Oversee access control, key control, lost and found, cash escorts, asset protection, and security patrol activities.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all incidents, investigations, and daily activity reports.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
  • Prepare work schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels to support a 24-hour operation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, counseling, and recognition.
  • Address employee performance concerns through corrective action when necessary.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and exceptional guest service.

Investigations & Risk Management

  • Conduct and oversee investigations involving theft, fraud, guest complaints, workplace incidents, policy violations, and other security-related matters.
  • Review incident reports to identify trends and implement preventative measures.
  • Partner with Surveillance, Human Resources, Risk Management, and department leaders on investigations and security concerns.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical personnel, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Emergency Response & Safety

  • Direct emergency response efforts involving medical emergencies, fires, evacuations, severe weather, and other critical incidents.
  • Ensure Security personnel are trained in emergency response procedures, de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and appropriate use-of-force policies.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Promote workplace safety and support compliance with OSHA and company safety programs.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and gaming regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Board requirements, Title 31 regulations, and company internal controls.
  • Ensure department records, reports, and documentation are accurate and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Monitor departmental budgets and control labor and operating expenses.
  • Prepare operational reports, incident summaries, staffing reports, and security metrics for leadership review.
  • Recommend improvements to security procedures, technology, and operational processes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, property initiatives, and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive security experience, preferably in a casino, hospitality, or gaming environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience leading security teams.
  • Experience conducting investigations and preparing detailed incident reports.
  • Working knowledge of casino security operations and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and security reporting software.
  • Excellent guest service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Registration.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Alcohol Awareness (TAM) Card.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Safety Training Card.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License with an acceptable driving record preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the property.
  • Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as necessary.
  • Must possess vision, hearing, and mobility sufficient to perform security and emergency response duties.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced casino, hotel, and resort environment operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Frequent interaction with guests, team members, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Exposure to loud noise, crowds, smoke (where permitted), and emergency situations.
  • Must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as business needs require.
