POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of guests and employees, their property, and the property. This includes supporting other department activities to help assure the highest levels of guest and employee service. The Security Manager will help guide and support the administration of training on safety and security procedures for both security officers and employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • The Security Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Security in the overall security and safety of the Hotel, service professionals and guests.
  • Assist in leading the daily operations within the Security Department to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Ensure that safety hazards are being identified and reported along with any suspicious or unusual activities or behaviors; assist in creating and implementing safety measures and procedures to enforce the code of conduct; creating and implementing Standard Operation Procedures
  • Provide training and onboarding of new officers, complete administrative duties.
  • Partner with the Director of Security in colleague coaching and counseling sessions; and create schedules.
  • This role will report directly to the Director Security
  • Work in a safe, professional and organized manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with GuardTek, and MS Office products is preferable.
  • Incumbent should have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a minimum of 2 years Management experience in a similar position, preferably in a luxury environment
  • Have a minimum of 2 years work experience in conducting safety and security assessments and training.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Flexible schedule is required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills are necessary.
  • Experience in De-escalation is critical.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation.
  • Must be detailed oriented, excellent computer skills necessary.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisor.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. This includes traveling to and from meetings. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
