Security Officer

Job Title: Security Officer
Location: ADA, MI
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension

The Security Officer will be a part of the Protection Services Department, which has oversight responsibilities for the protection and safety of corporate employees and Ada-based corporate and family member facilities. The position will report to a shift supervisor. The work and responsibilities are varied, and the position involves a rotating work schedule on seven-day work operations.

Additional Job Description:
" Patrols assigned sites on foot or in vehicles; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
" Monitoring and authorizing of vehicles or people in the property (Access Control).
" Respond to alarms and assess situations.

Requirements:
" A high school diploma and a valid driver s license

Preferred skills & abilities:
" 2 to 4 years of prior security or criminal justice experience.
" The ability to multi-task and prioritize.
" Strong interpersonal skills.
" Strong written and verbal communication skills.
" A bachelor s degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
" The ability to utilize basic computer applications.
" The ability to lift 50 lbs.
" A strong attention to detail.
