What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and/or emergency response actions at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts, supervisors, and/or public agencies as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
- Carry and maintain assigned armed post equipment in accordance with company policies, post orders, and applicable regulations while remaining prepared to respond to elevated situations.
- Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and public-facing spaces to help support orderly operations, assist with direction and information, and report hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
Minimum Requirements:
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- A DD214 with honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate is required.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
