As a Security Officer Armed Site Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Pay Rate: $18.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, riders, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts, supervisors, and/or local authorities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, screen for suspicious behavior, and verify credentials, permits, and/or authorized entry where required, while following post orders and applicable use of force guidelines.
  • Support incident response by assisting with crowd management, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and communicating clearly during service disruptions, medical calls, evacuations, and/or other public-facing situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
