What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors, local law enforcement, and/or emergency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and/or screening points, verifying access permissions and reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations according to post orders.
- Support government operations by maintaining a visible presence, following armed post protocols, preparing required reports, and assisting with de-escalation and public interactions in a professional manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or corrections and/or a college degree in criminal justice.
- Possess an armed guard card and unarmed guard card.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
