Position Summary Provides security for patients,employees,and visitors. Protects hospital buildings,assets,and premises. Responsibilities Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Reports on safety and/or fire hazards or security violations. 20% Controls parking and traffic flow in parking areas; enforces parking regulations. 15% Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities.Securespatient valuables or lost and found articles;maintainslogs of items received. 15% Monitors conduct of visitors on hospitalpremises;confrontunauthorized people for questioning as needed. 15% Responds to inquiries for advice orassistancefrom hospital personnel,studentsand visitors;aidswith restraints of patients as needed. 15% Transportspersonnel and equipment in hospital-owned vehicles. Escorts personnelparkinglots and hospital buildings asrequested. 10% Participates in investigations;maintainsrecords and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities. Maintains department records,reports,and files asrequired. 10% Work Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience. Position Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 20 hour Basic Security Training Certification.
