    Job Description:

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Protect Scottish Rite for Children property, buildings, grounds, and personnel.

    • Prevent security and safety incidents/accidents through the conduct of patrols, inspections, and investigations; respond to the security and safety needs of all Scottish Rite staff, patients, and visitors.

    • Patrol and check all buildings and parking areas for lost or suspicious persons. 

    • Check building doors after hours, ensuring that doors are locked, and building(s) is/are secure.

    • Check outpatient areas around-the-clock.

    • Check employees that are working late, control, parking assistance, and provide security escorts to all parking areas as needed/requested.

    • Promptly respond to emergency code conditions and security alarms.

    • Observe and report fire and safety hazards when on patrol.

    • Relieve Command Center officers for breaks, department meetings, etc. 

    • Work assigned shift and others when called upon.

    • Complete a daily Activity Log of all occurrences during tour of duty and all other shift paperwork (i.e., Incident Reports, inspections, donation forms, etc.) 

    • Perform fund raiser escorts as needed.

    • Effectively work with staff, peers, Director, and Supervisors to ensure a harmonious relationship is maintained.

    • Organize work to maximize efficiency and to complete work on time.

    • Perform productive activities consistently during work schedule.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • Minimum 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience required

    • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable

    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral required

    • Must be able to work with computer and security monitoring systems
