General Description:
The Security Officer I reports to the Security Lead or Security Supervisor, conducts activities to prevent, fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and bodily harm. Prevents crime and enables deterrence by presenting a highly visible, physically capable, professional uniformed presence. Responds to alarms and other calls for assistance to rescue, protect, and defend. Has access to medication storage areas, may receive, deliver and store medications only. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Valid State of Florida Drivers License (FDL) and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMCs corporate automobile insurance carrier is strongly preferred - license will be screened prior to employment and annually thereafter (if applicable).
AHCA fingerprint clearance required.

FEMA IS906 and IS907 required within one (1) year of hire.
IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) required within one (1) year of hire.
BLS through The American Heart Association required to be completed quarterly through RQI.
Complete and achieve the following department-provided trainings and certifications:
Certification in Healthcare Defensive Tactics within first 90 days of hire (e.g. AVADE-HDTS, MOAB, or similar approved by the Director).
Certification in Defense Baton within 180 days of hire (AVADE, AXON, or similar approved by the Director).
Certification in Conducted Energy Weapon (Taser) within 180 days of hire (AVADE, AXON, or similar approved by the Director).
Complete on-site training in Traumatic Bleeding Control (tourniquet) within one (1) year of hire (e.g. Stop the Bleed).
All above functions must be re-certified as required to maintain competency.
