NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: Security Officer II 182 Days per Year 40 Hours per week, Monday thru Friday Location and Schedule to be determined

WAGES: $33.65 per hour

DUTIES: Security Officers for Glastonbury Public Schools work with school administrators and staff to maintain a safe environment for all. They supervise students and enforce school policies.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Actively supervise large areas of students
• Monitor entrance and screen all visitors
• Patrol and monitor school grounds and hallways
• Assist School Administrators as needed
• Work security posts or any other duties as directed
• Traffic Control

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Retired, POST Certified Law Enforcement, minimum 10 years, retired in good standing
• Solid relationship-building skills including the ability to relate easily and work well with all levels of staff, students, vendors and the public
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Able to work flexible hours
