As a Security Officer in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support security-related procedures.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized access points, verify credentials when required, and document visitor activity, incidents, and/or daily observations in accordance with post orders.
• Support a respectful environment within the shelter setting by addressing concerns professionally, reporting maintenance or behavioral issues to appropriate personnel, and helping to de-escalate tense situations when possible.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
