L1 Security OfficerWhat we are looking for
Key Roles and Responsibilities:Ensures that all employees, clients, vendors, and visitors on company property have proper company-issued identification.Patrols assigned post on foot to maintain visibility and observes possible unusual activity. Ensures that the client, its associates, and NTT Data Centre personnel are provided with a safe and professional work environment. Investigates, address if possible, and report security, maintenance, and safety conditions. Ensures daily administrative documentation is concise and complete at all times. Maintains assigned equipment is functional and in presentable condition. Assist personnel with requestsCompletes various company or client assignments as required.Assists with Shipping and Receiving tasks. Responds to emergencies- coordinates with local emergency management resourcesInvestigates and reports fires, evacuations, hazardous situations/other facility related events. Maintains familiarity of Security procedures and policies in addition to Company policies. Exposure to investigations involving security related accidents/incidents, interviews witnesses, complaints, and victims; gather and preservation of property Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:Strong observational and surveillance skills, with the ability to detect and respond to security threats or breaches effectivelyKnowledge of occupational hazards and safety rulesAbility to remain calm in an emergencyExcellent customer service skillsExcellent ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal methods with clients, vendors, and co-workersAbility to operate in a rigorous process-driven team environmentAbility to logically analyse and solve problemsStrong organisational skills with the ability to multi-taskAbility to work with a flexible schedule as requiredStrong team player with the ability to follow instructions, adhere to security procedures, and work effectively in a team environmentAbility to work with a flexible schedule as requiredDemonstrated integrity, honesty, and reliability in fulfilling security responsibilitiesMust be comfortable working in a highly critical, highly confidential, fast paced environment with shifting prioritiesMust be able to respond to emergency situations at the data centreMust be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and be part of on-call protocolAcademic Qualifications and Certifications:High School diploma or GED requiredAdditional education or training in security-related fields is a plusPossession of relevant certifications such as Certified Security Guard (CSG) or Certified Protection Officer (CPO)CPR/First Aid Certification (can be obtained in first 6 months working for NTT)Required Experience:Basic experience with standard methods, practices, tools and equipment for the security teamBasic experience in security roles, preferably in a data centre or similar environment.Basic experience in the administration and operation of: access control systems, CCTV systems with digital recording, and photo ID systems preferred.Compensation Pay Range
• This position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.• NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Hourly base salary for this position is $17.00 - $21.20 and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance to local state and federal ‘Wage and Hour’ requirements.• All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.• Employees receive paid time-off, medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and supplemental insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending account, and 401k retirement plan to create a rich Total Rewards package.
