PCC Logistics is seeking professional, dependable, and highly observant Security Officers to provide comprehensive gate security, access control, foot patrols, trailer yard inspections, and refrigerated trailer (reefer) monitoring. Officers are responsible for protecting client property by controlling facility access, processing commercial vehicle traffic, conducting scheduled patrols, monitoring refrigerated equipment, documenting site activities, and responding appropriately to emergencies and security incidents.
The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity, professionalism, excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following detailed post orders and client-specific procedures.
Maintain a professional and visible security presence at all times.
Protect client property, personnel, equipment, and assets.
Follow all client and company policies, procedures, and post orders.
Maintain accurate documentation throughout each shift.
Communicate effectively with Dispatch, Management, and client representatives.
Report emergencies, security concerns, and safety hazards immediately.
Monitor all vehicle and pedestrian entrances and exits.
Remain assigned to the guard booth except when performing gate-related duties.
Verify employee, contractor, visitor, and vendor credentials prior to granting access.
Control all facility access in accordance with company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all entries and exits.
Receive a pass-down from the outgoing security officer or PCC employee.
Review pending appointments and scheduled deliveries.
Verify all required equipment is available.
Ensure the Panasonic Toughbook scanner is operational.
Report equipment or scanner issues immediately to Management.
Process employee access using Panasonic Toughbook scanners.
Utilize QR Code, Barcode, RFID, or NFC technology.
Complete manual employee logs when electronic scanners are unavailable.
Contact PCC Management for approval of all new or temporary employees.
Record every employee entry and exit, including multiple entries during a shift.
Enforce restricted access during:
1900–0500
Weekends
Holidays
Verify government-issued identification.
Allow entry only to individuals listed on the Authorized Access List.
Verify after-hours driver authorization through Dispatch.
Deny unauthorized access unless approved by the client.
Verify visitor authorization with Hammer Head Dispatch unless pre-approved.
Record visitor information in the appropriate log.
Deny access to unauthorized visitors.
Maintain complete visitor documentation.
Record:
Driver name
Company name
License plate
Trailer number
Container number
Chassis number
Driver signature
Trailer status (Loaded or Empty)
Verify trailer/container numbers.
Verify seal numbers against Bills of Lading.
Record departure information.
Complete outbound documentation accurately.
Require drivers to open all outbound empty trailers.
Verify trailers are completely empty.
Compare dispatch paperwork with interchange documentation.
Report documentation discrepancies immediately.
Prevent departures until discrepancies are resolved.
For refrigerated trailers:
Record Set Temperature.
Record Running Temperature.
Ensure temperature documentation is accurate and complete.
Maintain and complete:
Gate Log Sheets
Truck Log Sheets
PCC Owner Operator Sheets
Manual Employee Logs
Temperature Logs
Thirty minutes before the end of each shift:
Verify all documentation with Dispatch.
Submit completed paperwork to PCC.
Keep the main vehicle gate closed during restricted hours.
Verify identification before granting access.
Contact client representatives regarding unauthorized deliveries.
Document denied access attempts.
Contact law enforcement when unauthorized persons refuse to leave.
Conduct complete foot patrols every sixty (60) minutes.
Vehicle patrols are prohibited.
Complete every assigned patrol before returning to the guard shack.
Maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
Complete required QR scans at designated checkpoints, including:
Fence lines
Warehouse doors
Propane storage
Trailer yard
Electrical panels
Report damaged or missing QR checkpoints immediately.
Inspect for:
Theft
Vandalism
Suspicious persons
Property damage
Safety hazards
Fence damage
Unsecured doors
Unsecured gates
Equipment tampering
Immediately notify Dispatch and client representatives of urgent hazards.
During every patrol:
Capture timestamped photographs in landscape orientation.
Upload photographs to the approved Viber communication thread.
Include detailed location descriptions.
Ensure photographs support Daily Activity Reports (DARs).
Before inspections:
Obtain the Trailer Inventory Sheet.
Verify the inventory date.
For every refrigerated trailer:
Verify trailer number.
Verify chassis number.
Record Set Temperature.
Record Running Temperature.
Verify Frozen Reefers remain powered ON.
Confirm trailer tags match inventory documentation.
When a reefer enters DEF mode:
Record the DEF start time.
Reinspect within forty-five (45) minutes.
Notify Dispatch if DEF mode exceeds one (1) hour.
Continue inspections every forty-five (45) minutes until normal operation resumes.
Immediately report:
Incorrect temperatures
Temperature deviations
Incorrect trailer tags
Reefer shutdowns
Equipment malfunctions
Photograph all discrepancies and complete Incident Reports when required.
At the conclusion of each patrol:
Return completed Trailer Inventory Sheets.
Update the Viber communication thread.
Complete all Daily Activity Report (DAR) entries before beginning the next patrol.
Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) accurately and thoroughly.
Complete Incident Reports (IRs) for security incidents, safety hazards, equipment issues, and policy violations.
Maintain accurate documentation of:
Access control
Patrols
Vehicle inspections
Trailer inspections
Security incidents
Property conditions
Temperature monitoring
Utilize Viber communications to support report documentation and shift pass-down information.
Respond appropriately to medical, fire, and security emergencies.
Notify Dispatch immediately of emergencies and critical incidents.
Contact law enforcement when necessary.
Assist emergency responders by providing facility access and directions.
Protect life and property while maintaining officer safety.
Complete all required incident documentation following emergency responses.
Previous security experience preferred.
Valid California Guard Card required.
Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prepare accurate reports and documentation.
Ability to follow detailed post orders and client procedures.
Professional appearance and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to stand, walk, and conduct foot patrols for extended periods.
