Inspired by daring artists, MoMA PS1 is committed to the exploration of contemporary art and culture, broadening perspectives on the issues of our day, and engaging New Yorkers and communities across the world. Founded in 1976, the institution was a defining force in the alternative space movement in New York City, transforming a nineteenth-century public schoolhouse in Long Island City into a site for artistic experimentation and creativity. PS1 has been a member of New York City’s Cultural Institutions Group (CIG) since 1982 and aliated with The Museum of Modern Art since 2000.

Summary:
Interacts with visitors in a positive and welcoming manner, including providing directions and
information related to the Museum collection, public programs, and events.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $18.00 – 20.00 hourly. Benefits include 20 days paid vacation leave; 10 days paid sick leave; 11 paid holidays; and 3 paid personal days; participation in a 401(k) savings plans, life insurance; medical/health (including visual and dental); transit, health, and dependent care FSA; and pension plan.
Please note that a NY State Security Guard License is required for the Security Officer
position. A provisional time period may be provided in order to acquire this certification as a
condition of employment.
