    Description

    The Motor Vehicle Operator is responsible for transporting guests and employees while performing security work assignments to include the safeguarding of property assets and ensuring our environment is safe and secure for patrons and employees of both casino locations. Duties include completing reports, inspects buildings and equipment, while securing access points,  prevents losses and damages by reporting irregularities while maintaining the stability and integrity of our Security department. Communicates with internal departments as needed and promotes good employee relations by conducting themselves in a professional manner. Provides superior guest services to guests of our casino. Performs other job related duties as assigned by department manager. 

    Starting wage is $24.43/hr, increasing to $25.01/hr at successful completion of 90 day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

    Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

    Experience & Requirements:

    • One year of security experience required; gaming experience preferred.
    • Must have excellent communication and guest relation skills
    • Basic report writing skills is required
    • Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License with a good driving record and be able to provide a current and acceptable driving abstract with the ability to be insured and bonded
    • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of this position

    Competencies:

    The Security Officer MVO demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of casino and departmental policies, fire inspection protocols, surveillance systems, security best practices, casino layout and operations, vehicle safety, incident documentation requirements, and tribal-state compact regulations. Proficient in operating personal computers and related software, safely handling motor vehicles, problem-solving, radio communication, basic report writing, and maintaining professionalism, the officer effectively manages crowds, observes details, and delivers exceptional customer service. With strong verbal and written communication skills, the officer safely operates vehicles, provides assistance and information, handles high-stress and emergency situations, maintains physical control when necessary, and accurately documents incidents. Additionally, they conduct inspections, follow verbal and written directives, remain alert, exhibit positive body language, multitask efficiently, and uphold strict confidentiality standards.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to stand and walk for longer than 8 hours
    • Must be able to maintain a high level on concentration
    • Use of eye sight; hand and finger dexterity; bending, stooping, climbing stairs, reaching, crawling and pushing
    • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds
    • Mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis
    • Must be able to tolerate working around loud noises in a casino smoke-filled environment

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

    All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
