As a Security Officer Museum Guard in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, galleries, common areas, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and policy awareness, and report maintenance, life-related, and/or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support campus operations during classes, events, exhibits, and/or after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and following post orders and site-specific procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
