Security Officer

Summary Performs general safety and security duties including patrol and detection services, assisting customers, response and intervention responsibilities. Provides monitoring services to assure team member, patient, and visitor safety. Completes communication and documentation tools. Conducts weapons screening in appropriate manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Required Education: HS Graduate or Equivalent (GED)
• Required Credentials:
• Drivers License - State of Florida (upon hire)
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification (needed within 1 year; 5-year renewal is NOT required)
• Security D License (within 90 days)
• Required Experience: 1 year Customer Service OR 1 year Healthcare in related field OR 1 year Hospital in related field.

Key Skills and Other Requirements

• Life Safety and Weapons Screening techniques.
• Team members must complete De-Escalation training within 2 months of hire or transfer into job (with Annual recertification required).
