Security Officer - Part-Time

Week Nights shifts 4-8:30pm and weekend hours vary

Pay Range: $16.78 - 18.59 hourly

NFM is looking for a Security Officer to provide an authoritative presence to ensure a safe and secure environment, while protecting company property and staff.

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

Greet: Welcome all customers, visitors and vendors and assist them in locating staff within the storesSupport: Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and provide assistance in obtaining wheel chairs and shopping cartsMonitor: Examine and properly tag property being brought into the storesAssess: React as necessary and assist in handling any situations - shoplifting, medical emergencies and inclement weatherPatrol: Watch facilities and parking areas on foot or in a vehicle. Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulationsAssist: Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areasReport: Conduct preliminary investigations, audits and security surveys and document the findings

High School Diploma/GED preferredValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to consistently engage customers in a professional mannerRemain flexible to ever changing environments and adapt to different situationsStamina to stand for long periods of timeKnowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsCertification in OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) foam deployment within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification standards (Nebraska & Kansas only)Satisfactorily complete NFM Response to Resistance and First Responder training courses within ninety (90) days of employmentAbility to obtain a non-commissioned security officer license within thirty (30) days of employment (Texas only)Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needsPre-employment screening includes, but isn't limited to, drug screen and criminal background check
