As a Security Officer Part Time Reception in Austin, TX, the enhanced role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $22.28 / Hour

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service by greeting employees, visitors, and contractors at the front desk, verifying access credentials, and following site-specific security-related procedures for a technology and communications location.
- Monitor lobby and reception activity, manage visitor check-in processes, issue temporary access materials when appropriate, and report unusual or suspicious activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services and/or designated personnel when needed.
- Answer questions, provide directions, and support front desk operations while maintaining awareness of access control activity and helping to deter unauthorized entry.
- Complete required logs, reports, and incident documentation accurately, and communicate relevant updates during shift changes and/or with client representatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
