The security officers at this facility serve our customers and employees by monitoring our grounds and buildings to provide a safe and secured environment for patient care. Our guards are unarmed and function only as a monitoring and reporting entity. Situations requiring physical intervention will be reported immediately to the Alexandria Police Department for resolution. Security guards will physically intervene only in immediate life threatening situations.
What you will do in this role:
Ability to tolerate moderate to heavy lifting (16-40 lbs.).
Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to write legible accident and incident reports.
Ability to tolerate prolonged standing, bending and stooping on a daily basis.
Ability to tolerate heat, cold and other expected outside work environments.
Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
Conducts Security Rounds for unlocked doors, unauthorized visitors, safety issues, etc.
Provides security for the Patients, Visitors & Staff
Responds to combatant patients or visitors
Investigates incidents (e.g. accidents, thefts, vandalism, etc.)
Conducts Life Safety rounds daily
Assist Patients and Visitors whenever needed
Provides assistance in moving remains in Morgue
Inspects Fire Safety equipment monthly (e.g. fire extinguishers, fire hose cabinets, etc.)
Conduct Fire Drills throughout the hospital
Provides Life Safety Training to all staff members on every shift
Responds to Fire Alarms, Infant Abduction alarms, Elevator Emergency Alarms, etc...
Provides security for psych patients when contract services are not available
Provides emergency courier service for medical devices, instruments, drugs, infant supplies
Conducts traffic rounds and ticket cars that are parked illegally
Provides emergency Patient transportation within the hospital
Provides Roadside Assistance for Patient, Visitors or Staff when they have a dead battery, flat tire or mechanical breakdown on hospital grounds
Provides support during after-hour emergencies (e.g. flooding, mechanical equipment failures, damage to building structures, etc.)
Provides support for Emergency Room decontamination
Provide crowd control during emergencies
Write detailed reports using good communication skills
