As a Security Officer - Shopping Center in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities appropriate for a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and report security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout storefronts, common areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, high-traffic areas, and/or loading areas for suspicious behavior, policy violations, or other security-related issues, and document observations according to site expectations.
- Assist with crowd management, closing procedures, and/or after-hours checks as directed, while maintaining a professional presence for guests and retail personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
