Responsibilities:
- The Security Officer maintains a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, and enforcing security policies.
- This role helps prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access while ensuring the safety of Hillcrest Hospital South patients, visitors, staff, equipment, supplies, facilities, and hospital contents.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CLEET Armed Security Officer.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- IAHSS Basic level (within 6 months of hire).
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- CPI (within 90 days of hire)
- Maintain annual firearm and handcuffing certification
- OC gel spray certification.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 1 year of security experience.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, contractors, governmental agencies, and vendors.
- Ability to confront adverse and potentially hostile situations and resolve tactfully and safely.
- Skill and ability to make quick decisions and apply safety and security knowledge in emergencies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
