About the Role (job title and summary):
The Security Officer is a union position responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility through surveillance monitoring, access control, visitor processing, routine patrols, and incident reporting, along with other duties as assigned by management. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive and overall security coverage of the premise utilizing CCTV video camera, physical rounds and two-way communication devices
Control and monitor access control to the facility.
Process all facility visitors and maintain visitor records in accordance with NYSOCM guidelines, must have photo ID and be at least 21 years of age to enter.
Be on time for duty and ready to work at the beginning of the shift. This includes changing into uniforms.
Maintain a confidential personal access code to arm and disarm the facility burglar alarm system.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all Surveillance/Security investigation information gained while conducting your duties.
Enter all necessary information into the Surveillance Daily Worksheet.
Check that all keys and two-way radios are accounted for and maintained on the log sheets.
Maintain all security equipment and inventory such as locks, access control cards, radios.
Maintain a constant visual of the Surveillance cameras and routinely rotate camera views so all areas are being observed.
Conduct irregular facility rounds checking for unlocked doors, employees out of place and assessing the general safety of the facility environment.
Conduct duties as directed by supervisor
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Review all security related emails.
Prepare incident reports as directed, make necessary notifications to Security Manager as incidents occur.

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. The ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to 100ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in occasionally humid and often pollinated environments.
