Job Summary:

KBR is seeking to hire a cleared Security Operations Center Operator to join our Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Operating Unit. This position provides monitoring, response and administrative support to the Security Operations Center (SOC) at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an operator in the 24 hour Security Operations Center for the NRL facility. This is a 24 hour/ 365 day operation and will require out of hours shift work. Punctuality at the beginning of the work shift is absolutely critical.
  • Monitor the base wide alarm system and respond to anomalies according to defined Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure that the contact list for notifications of alarms is current.
  • Continually monitor CCTV perimeter surveillance screens for any suspicious activity and report to appropriate authorities immediately.
  • Record all anomalies, reports, contacts, feedback and final resolutions.
  • Provide status reports for activities occurring during each shift, and summary reports of all anomalous events.
  • Assists with a variety of administrative matters as directed.
  • Must be familiar with use of computer as it relates to performing Security Operations Center tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Experience: At least 6 years of customer service experience.

Clearance: No clearance is required to start, the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret and ultimately Top-Secret clearance will be required for this position in the long term.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active security clearance preferred.

Base Compensation:

This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.

Shift differential of 10% for evening shift and 20% for over-night shift

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
