This position is located on-site in both our Hamilton and Sedro Woolley sites. 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Personnel Security Specialist’s primary responsibility is performing multiple, moderately complex duties in connection with supporting the Personnel Security (PERSEC) program. This includes assisting employees with obtaining their initial Department of War (DoW) security clearance and follow-on program access requirements, and to support the Security Department with the day-to-day interpretation, implementation, enforcement and execution of the National Industrial Security Program (32 CFR Part 117) and DoDM 5205.7 to ensure compliance with applicable laws, directives and regulations. This role involves a variety of tasks, including clerical, organizational, and customer service duties. 

The following essential job functions are performed as a Personnel Security Specialist:

  • Review security clearance applications for accuracy, completeness and submission via e-QIP, provides guidance and instruction to employees as necessary to ensure proper completion
  • Perform duties to include initiating / tracking security clearance investigations, reporting adverse information/incident reports, initiating visit certification requests, etc.
  • Maintain security documentation and files in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Conduct security violation inquiries and investigations to assure potential compromises are thoroughly evaluated and reported, as required
  • Communicate with Government agencies on a continuous basis to obtain approvals and maintain compliance with applicable regulations
  • Execute security requirements consistent with the program’s DD Form 254 and Security Classification Guide policies and procedures
  • Process incoming Program Access Requests (PAR) and associated documentation across numerous special access programs
  • Assist with the development, implementation and oversight of the security education program.
  • Conduct Security indoctrination briefings, debriefings, annual refresher briefings, and all other briefings as required
  • Conduct and participate in inspections (internal and external) and implement necessary corrective actions when deficiencies found
  • Ensure compliance with security measures / controls for secured spaces
  • Monitor  and maintain the Visitor Control Program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Previous Security Specialist experience, particularly in the processing and administration of personnel security clearances
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis in MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • The ability to receive and maintain a DoW Secret Clearance and obtain Special Access Program (SAP) acceptance

  • Must meet additional eligibility requirements for accessing classified information as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current DoD Secret clearance with T3 investigation within the last 5 years.
  • 1 – 3 years previous CPSO or Industrial Security Specialist experience, to include basic knowledge of e-QIP (e-APP), DISS, SWFT, NISS and SIMS
  • Familiarity with NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, DCID and applicable directives
  • Bachelor’s degree or CDSE Professional Certifications
  • Proficient in Spanish (Speaking/Reading/Writing) 

DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION 

  • Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $90,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
