Overview:

We have a career opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our team!

 

The successful candidate is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s physical security program through the protection of employees, facilities, and critical assets. The role serves as an experienced security professional with a strong operational background, providing on‑site security oversight, incident response, and coordination with internal stakeholders and external public safety agencies. The incumbent exercises sound judgment in high‑pressure situations, applies established security and emergency response protocols, and contributes to the effective 
management of physical security risks across the organization.

Minimum Salary: $85,800 (Grade 10)

Responsibilities:

Security Management:

  • Oversee and manage the physical security operations across multiple critical infrastructure 
    facilities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the 
    safety of personnel, assets, and facilities.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Conduct regular site security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Ability to recommend and implement security enhancements based on assessment findings.

Incident Response:

  • Coordinate response efforts for physical security incidents, emergencies and breaches.
  • Lead investigations into physical security incidents and prepare reports documenting findings and 
    actions taken.

Access Control:

  • Manage access control systems to ensure authorized personnel have appropriate access to 
    facilities and sensitive areas.
  • Monitor and review access logs to detect and address unauthorized access attempts.

Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and conduct training programs for employees on security awareness, emergency response, 
    and safety procedures.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and training activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on security performance and incidents.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Citizens requirements and industry best practices related to physical 
    security.
  • Ability to stay updated on security trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.

Other:

  • Participate and support all area’s continuous improvement projects trust wide.
  • Prepare and monitor fleet, security, and facility expense and capital budgets.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or professional training in security, law enforcement, or risk management preferred.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in physical security, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of physical security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including traversing facilities and responding to security incidents, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Availability to respond to security incidents outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license.
  • Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience within Citizens Energy Group or equivalent experience in a comparable security, public safety, or regulated utility environment.
  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required or the ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain self‑directed and effectively solve problems in high‑pressure or emergency situations.
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles, risk management practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Law enforcement training and experience responding to public service calls in a sworn capacity, with demonstrated knowledge of incident response and public safety procedures.
  • Professional security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or comparable credentials preferred.
